VaCIE Director Awarded Fulbright to Germany

Jane Wemhoener (Blacksburg), Executive Director of the Virginia Council for International Education (VaCIE), has been awarded a Fulbright by the German-American Fulbright Commission for travel to Germany this March and April. Wemhoener will study all levels of the German education system during her travels to Berlin, Saxony and Baden-Wurttemburg. "While several of Virginia's colleges and universities have thriving exchange programs with German institutions, many do not. I am excited to explore opportunities for exchange and other collaborative efforts between VaCIE's institutions and Germany," Wemhoener commented. VaCIE is a consortium of 35 public and private colleges and universities in Virginia that seeks to promote international education within the Commonwealth's higher education community. Virginia Tech hosts VaCIE's administrative support.
